任务: The Notre Dame 中学 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center exists to support students and teachers in their learning and teaching, to create lifelong learners by encouraging critical thinking, curiosity, and exploration, and to foster a love of reading in all formats.

All student, faculty, and staff personnel assigned to NDHS are welcome in the Library Media & Information Services Center and will enjoy equal access, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, or special needs.  Students may come to the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center during the school day, to seek assistance, research, study, or read.

  • The 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center is available from 8:00 a.m. – 2:35 p.m., Monday through Friday with the exception of the Librarian lunch period.
  • There may be instances that the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center will be closed to students due to unscheduled meetings, group testing, special projects, or as deemed by an administrator.

The 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center has an extensive collection of SAT and AP Preparation books, College Guides, How-to Guides for the college essay and scholarship applications, and books on a variety of careers.  All of these materials are available for students to check out.

Many studies confirm the correlation between increased reading and school achievement, as well as higher SAT verbal scores.  Toward that end, the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center is dedicated to developing a collection that appeals to a wide variety of interests and reading levels and working with students to develop an interest in online news and periodical reading.  Students are also encouraged to make suggestions for future purchases.

According to the Library of Congress, only 10% of the world’s information is available online.  Students who plan to attend college will benefit from understanding the depth of information available in print sources that supplement factual data obtained from the Internet.  The 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center has an excellent and up to date collection available for student use.

21st-century learning requires access to the Internet, and computers for research, personal exploration, word processing, and creating presentations.  The 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center has desktop computers, wireless chrome books, printers, and a document scanner for student use.

Selected 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center materials are available for check-out.  Notices will be sent to those students who need a reminder during homeroom periods.

图书馆 Media & Information Services Center Etiquette:

The 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center is a community learning space and must serve multiple purposes.

All students are expected to conduct themselves with consideration and thoughtfulness for the rights of others and will be treated with dignity and respect by Library staff.  Students who consistently demonstrate a disregard for the Library Media & Information Services Center community may have their 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center privileges revoked for a period of time.

Students using the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center will conduct themselves in a way that respects all other people that are using the facility.

  • The 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center is open for use by all NDHS students, faculty, and staff personnel.
  • The 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center is the place to read, research, study, or find a book.
  • 所有学生必须工作,或静静地看书。

  • Generally, in an effort to ensure adequate space for all wishing to use the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center, students will be limited to one visit per day (exceptions may be approved on a case by case basis by the assigned librarian).
  • Show care when using all 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center resources.

  • Sign-up for 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center use before the start of the school day unless granted permission by an administrator.
  • Present a pre-approved 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center Pass.
  • Sign into the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center, writing legibly, using both first and last names

  • All computer use will be for academic purposes only.  Those students who violate this policy will lose their computer and or 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center privileges.

  • Before a student leaves the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center, he/she is expected to log-off their computer, leave the area around the computer clean, push in their chair, and return all materials to the areas that they found them.

图书馆 Media & Information Services Center Beautification:

  • Students should return any books that were used while in the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center to the Librarian or designated area.

School Rules and the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center:

  • The 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center is not a social gathering place.  It is a place to read, research, study, and find a good book.
  • Students need to remember that all other school rules are in effect while visiting the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center.
  • Students violating the above rules may be asked to leave the Library Media & Information Services Center, and/or restricted from using the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center, other than when accompanied by a teacher, for a designated period of time.

Class Use of the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center:

In the instance that a classroom teacher would like to bring their class to the 图书馆 Media & Information Services Center for the purposes of research, a 研究请求片 必须提前预期使用的提交网赌正规网址图书管理员审查和处理一个星期。图书管理员将考虑现有设备,研究材料,座椅等一后分配的老师坐标 研究请求片 必须超过一周用量的预期日期(S)之前,最迟提交网赌正规网址图书管理员。
